Iraklia is one of the least visited islands in the Cyclades, which is exactly the point. Meltemi is a yoga retreat venue in the Small Cyclades built around simplicity, nature, and the kind of quiet that lets a group genuinely settle in. Home-grown breakfast, a 60 sqm shala, night sky observation, and an island most visitors have never heard of.

Activities

Boat trips and freediving lessons
Explore the crystal-clear waters around Iraklia with guided boat trips and freediving lessons — one of the most intimate ways to experience the Small Cyclades from the sea.
Hiking
Iraklia’s trails wind through untouched landscape — rugged paths, wildflowers, and views across the Aegean that feel genuinely private. The island is small enough to feel like yours alone.

Eco-printing, herbal tea & beeswax workshops
Hands-on creative workshops using natural materials from the island — eco-printing with local plants, herbal tea blending, and beeswax candle making. The kind of activity that slows a group down in the best possible way.
Night sky observation and photography
Iraklia has almost zero light pollution, which means the night sky here is extraordinary. Guided star observation and astrophotography sessions make for an unforgettable evening for any group.

Getting to the island
Iraklia can be reached from Athens via a ferry service between Iraklia and Piraeus Port, operating approximately 3 times per week.
However, the trip lasts almost 7 hours. The island is also linked with some nearby islands of the Cyclades, like Paros and Naxos.
From Naxos and Amorgos, there is a local ferry, named Express Skopelitis, which departs for Iraklia and the rest of the islands of the small Cyclades group almost every day.
For retreat leaders looking for a yoga retreat venue in the Small Cyclades that offers something genuinely different, Meltemi on Iraklia is it.
